About Me

I have been in practice as a counsellor for over 13 years, working with children, young people and adults, focusing on a wide range of issues.

People self-refer to me or are referred by family, or organisations such as occupational health departments.

I am an integrative counsellor psychotherapist, meaning that I integrate the following therapy models in seeking to work with you as a unique individual with unique needs:

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Person-Centred counselling

  • Mindfulness

  • Creative therapy - using a range of toys, pictures, creative writing, art, sand and clay. We can also use drama and movement to create, tell and explore your stories.

    Creativity combines well with mindfulness.

For some creative sessions, we could meet at an art gallery or museum, if you wish, where we can view art work or historic artefacts and reflect on what these different images or objects mean or say to you. (Note: meeting at an art gallery or museum is offered to age 18+ clients).

You may wish to work in one particular way or are happy to draw on this range of approaches within counselling.

You can choose how you want to have therapy:

  • Face-to-face

  • Online via Zoom or WhatsApp

  • By phone

  • Walk and talk - you may find that it helps you to talk when walking rather than sitting in the counselling room. If so, we can walk and talk at an agreed place. ‘Walk and talk’ combines well with mindfulness. The first session would be at my counselling room/via remote counselling.

My qualifications include:

  • BA(Hons) Counselling (Adults) and Theology (BACP Accredited course).

  • MSc Counselling Children and Young People

  • Diploma (Level 7) Supervision

  • Creative Counselling Certificate (CPCAB Creative Counselling Network)

I am committed to ongoing continual professional development and training.

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
